The only time I've ever really noticed this though is if I have a good few graphics written with xy-pic to compile in the document, but in that case, you can use \OnlyOutlines to remove that delay while you're working on the text. It's handy if you're not doing anything too long since you can see where you've gone wrong as soon as you type it.įor longer documents that might take a while to compile (ie longer than a second or two, since you will notice this in gummi), I'd use Kile.
